Can you make a cocktail that bites?
Baijiu's umami notes pair excellently with spicy, savory flavors - we're challenging YOU to create a baijiu-based cocktail inspired by any popular culinary dish of your choosing. Cocktails will be judged by an expert panel led by chef Brandon Jew of the Michelin-starred Mister Jiu's in San Francisco - and four finalists will be flown out for a live in-person final where they'll compete for up to $2000 in cash prizes.
Timeline:
  • December 15, 2024 - January 21, 2025: Submission Period
  • Feb 3-7, 2025: Instagram Round
  • Feb 11, 2025: Finalists Announced
  • March 19, 2025: In-person Final at Mister Jiu's Moongate Lounge in San Francisco, CA

Eligibility:
(To be considered, you must meet the following requirements)
  • Must be a hospitality industry member.
  • Must have a publicly accessible Instagram account.
  • Are willing and able to travel domestically within the U.S. to the in-person final in San Francisco, CA on the scheduled contest date.
  • Cannot be named on any alcoholic beverage retail or distributor license or have any ownership stake in a alcoholic beverage retail establishment.

Requirements:
  • Recipe must contain 1oz. or more of Ming River Baijiu as the principal ingredient and cannot contain a greater amount of any other spiritous ingredient than that of Ming River Baijiu.
  • In an effort to showcase culture, the cocktail must be inspired by a traditional or well-known popular culinary dish.
